Central Street Books

About a year ago Central Street Books was birthed. It used to be The Book Eddy, located on Chapman Highway in south Knoxville. The Henley Street Bridge reconstruction project limited accessibility to that area of town, if you were coming from the north. The owners of The Book Eddy decided to go in a slightly different direction.  They thinned out their stock, refocused, and moved just north of town.  They settled at Central and Fulton with a new name, Central Street Books.

I visited them in December and they let me take some photos.

I miss The Book Eddy. But I like Central Street Books. Here's a blogpost that I did on somethings purchased at CSB.

Diavolo

While doing some baseball research I came across this ad for Diavolo as part of a larger ad for the Seventh Annual Spring Festival in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

The Chattanooga News - May 14, 1904

Doing some more research on Diavolo I found this article from the same year, 1904.

The Watertown Herald - August 13, 1904

Sideshow World has a nice page on him.  And Science Blogs has a detailed physics page on his act.

Diavolo might have been good, but he certainly wasn't The Flying Zacchinis.
